The end of 2015 saw the reintroduction of the Countess – a classic namebrand but an all-new, locally built range. The 170 CC quickly stole the show and it was my number one pick for the year, outperforming every other boat in its class.
With 2017 just around the corner and the 170 celebrating her first birthday, the designers took some of our humble suggestions to heart and she’s had a bit of a cosmetic makeover to give the interior fit and finish an upgrade.

The interior of the 170 CC isn’t too dissimilar to the previous model, though the minor cosmetic upgrades go a long way to make the craft more user-friendly rather than giving the interior an overhauled finish.
For example; stern seats, one either side of the motor, can now be folded down when not in use and are hinged to provide access to the bait locker (starboard side) and built-in cooler box (port side). Of course, either of these hatches can be used as storage if angling isn’t on the day’s agenda.
