It’s the return of the Countess range – and this is something I’m particularly interested to see. Not only was the brand very popular back in its day, but it continues to be an important part of boating families across the country today.
Try find one pre-loved – it’s like hen’s teeth. Trust me, I should know. I own the Countess 185. Honda Marine Knysna has brought back a legend – but instead of simply recreating the same wheel, the team looked at it and thought, ‘how can we make it even better?’ What came out of the South African-based builder was an all-new range for their stable.
Currently the brand consists of a 170 centre console and a 190 bowrider with more models to come – but more on those in an upcoming edition. Interestingly, this 170 cc is alternatively available in a dual console – with the helm on the starboard side and co-pilot seating to the port.
