If you’re into boating, fishing, diving, watersports or just enjoy looking at pretty and shiny things, best make your way down to the CTICC and V&A Waterfront on the weekend of 10-12 October! The country’s best boat dealers will be exhibiting their newest wares inside the CTICC as well as out on the water.

You can enjoy all there is to offer inside the hall and when you feel like some fresh air, just take the scenic ferry ride down the cute canal through Cape Town’s own ‘millionaire’s lane’ to the waterfront where you can enjoy the country’s biggest floating display of power boats, high-end yachts and catamarans, as well as a variety of outdoor demos. If you’re not keen on the water taxi idea, there will be shuttle buses available to cart you to the Waterfront – the fare for both the water taxi and shuttle is included in your entrance ticket.

This year’s show will have its own Diving Village where avid and prospective divers will be treated to demos, talks, the latest and best scuba gear on the market, and experts dealing out valuable advice. If you’re a certified diver, go have a look at what must-have underwater gadgets you can get on special; and if you aren’t qualified yet, sign up at the show to start exploring the beautiful mysteries of the underwater world. If diving doesn’t quite float your boat, so to speak, get down to the fishing section to see what specials you can wrangle on the latest rods, reels, tackle and accessories. Your fishfinder is definitely out of date and it’s time for an upgrade, so why not take a stroll through one of several stalls that will have a range of hightech fishing gadgets on offer? Or test your mettle on one of the superrealistic fishing simulators against big tuna, sailfish and even marlin – it is so realistic that it’s likely to leave a good ache in your arms and not much breath in your lungs!
