Into A Raging Sea
by Tony Weaver & Andrew Ingram
The waters off South Africa’s coastline are regarded as some of the most dangerous on earth. Sudden changes in weather, rip currents and freak waves all play their part in putting humans in peril, which sometimes ends in tragedy.
No matter the danger, the brave volunteers of the NSRI are always willing to risk their lives to save others. Setting out, often in extremely bad weather and trying conditions, they do their utmost to bring the victims back to shore safe and sound.
To commemorate 50 years of Sea Rescue (1967-2017) the book features a collection of short stories written by Tony Weaver, Andrew Ingram and others.
Some of these stories will make you laugh, some will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and others will be quite difficult to read because of the loss of human life.
The essence of the book is a positive one that highlights the wonderful work the brave NSRI volunteers undertake with complete selflessness to keep our coastlines safe.
The book is available in all good bookshops and can be ordered online as an ebook or a hard copy. For additional enquiries contact Meriel Bartlett at the NSRI.
