It’s been a long cold winter, but now it’s time to get back on the water and start honing those all-important skiing skills. Here are a few tips for getting back into the swing of things for the 2016/2017 season.
Step 1: Check your gear
Yup, even if it means you have to dig amongst all the clutter in the back of your garage, you’re going to have to unearth your ski(s) and dust off the cobwebs that have built up over the past few months.
When you have you faithful ski out in the sunlight, check that your bindings haven’t perished and your rope isn’t frayed. Snapping your rope on your first set and spending the rest of your season with an injury won’t be much fun.
If your gear needs replacement, ensure that you are buying gear that suits your particular style of skiing and which will assist you in becoming an improved skier.
Before buying a new ski, test it out to ensure it is right for you. If you find the particular ski you are testing is not ideal, try out a variety of different skis to find that perfect fit.
