FOUNTAINE PAJOT: THE QUEENSLAND 55
When Jean François Fountaine founded the Fountaine Pajot shipyard in 1976, he brought his Olympic yachting experience to the drawing board. Little did he know that his ideas and name would evolve to become synonymous with the very best sailing and power catamarans in the world.
From the start, yachting enthusiasts noticed that there was something afoot at Fountaine Pajot when early prototypes starting winning important regattas even prior to going into full-scale production.
Innovation drove the brand from its earliest origins. Forty years later, Fountaine Pajot has developed 30 different models of catamarans and has sold over 2,500 luxury yachts, under sail or power, all over the world.
Innovation remains a constant theme, with the latest models being built with ultra-modern hull processing in La Rochelle, France, and eco-friendly prototypes bringing green consciousness to marine sport. Each model is available in an “Eco Concept” version, i.e., positive energy boats that incorporate renewable energy sources and strongly reduce the ecological footprint of these power catamarans.
